Transferring

  • If you need to transfer from one bus to another to complete a one-way trip, you can save money when you ask for a pass called a transfer - they're FREE.
  • A transfer must be requested when you pay your first fare.
  • Transfers cannot be distributed in the downtown area between Denver and Detroit and 1st and 10th Streets, unless riding 251 Fast Track from Denver Ave. Station.
  • They have time limitations and are designed to allow you to catch the next connecting bus.
  • Transfers may not be used to travel in the opposite direction or to make your return trip.
  • Insert transfer into farebox when boarding your second bus.
  • If your one-way trip requires three buses, board your first bus and request a transfer.  Give the transfer to the driver when boarding your second bus and let him know you need to use it again.  The operator will punch it and return it to you. You may then use the same transfer pass to transfer to your third bus.
  • If you show a valid transfer when boarding the #251 Fast Track (quick connecting route between the two bus stations), you ride free.
  • The farebox will reject invalid transfers; please make sure yours is valid.
  • Tulsa Transit operators have a ten-minute window of time before they're considered "late". When planning your trip, remember that if an operator picks you up or drops you off ten minutes late, it's still considered "on time."  Avoid trying to make a transfer that doesn't give you at least ten minutes between your first and second bus.
  • If you purchase a Day pass or 31-Day pass (unlimited rides), you won't need a transfer.  Just swipe the farecard each time you ride.
  • In case of a misunderstanding, please pay your fare and report the discrepancy to Tulsa Transit at 582-2100.
  • Students who are holders of Tulsa Transit School Farecard issued by Tulsa Public Schools may receive a transfer when the school farecard is used.
